ELIZABETH TAYLOR! The MOURNING AFTER.... The Passing of A Great!

By Montgomery Frazier on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 9:23am.

I'm still trying to decipher how many days of mourning I'm going to have to personally endure for the loss of one of the most beautiful women, both externally and internally, EVER....ELIZABETH TAYLOR!

Although I had the pleasure to have met her but once, it was at a very private and intimate dinner party. Even from across the room she was just mesmerizing and so very funny, witty, but also a bit frail! Her normally jet-black hair was uncharacteristically white. When I was introduced to her by a longtime friend, Jose Eber, who's been her hairstylist forever, when she heard my name, Montgomery, her brilliant eyes lit up and a long story ensued about her devotion and tender love for my namesake.....Montgomery Clift. My hands were shaking and I was in heaven talking to one of my childhood loves! I've never forgotten how kind and genuinely interested in me she was. As a child growing up, she epitomized what I consdered to be the ultimate beauty. but she was definitely no shrinking violet. although her eyes were violet..a piercing violet, rarely found in nature!

I'm still very much grieving, not just for my personal loss of her physical presence on this earth, but for the WORLD'S loss! La LIZ was a very special humanitarian giving of her star power and influence endlessly. She was not just a great beauty but also a fiery Academy Award winning actress with too many memorable roles to mention. She was a strong force for compassion when compassion wasn't in fashion and she had the ultimate ZEST for LIFE. She was a contradiction because sometimes, she seemed so very frail and weak, but then she would endure and bounce back with the strength of Athena.

Simply stated, Elizabeth Taylor was a human being, with her many earthly frailties and vices, her many loves, marriages and remarriages, but ultimately someone that I personally looked up to and aspired to become.... because with all that she had acquired in this world, she would give back that much more to people who couldn't fight for themselves or didn't have anything! How many people can we say that about these days in our me-me-me, texting, twitting, blogging society?

We should all learn by her life's example to GIVING.... and stop TAKING......except for diamonds that is!

Elizabeth Taylor is already so very much missed by this "Image Guru", who but for one instance in my life, made me personally feel so very special..... and the WORLD'S MOURNING has only just begun!
